On the road again

Well I had the Courier out on Tuesday evening, travelled all of three miles to the West Mids evening meeting, I was most impressed the heater working well in just three quarters of a mile, almost as good as the Skod@.

Jay (he who did the RBRR and bought the 13/60 estate) helped me with transport back from Stoneleigh as the 2000 fresh back from the workshop (new heater and other bits & bobs fixed) was on the stand.

Jay and I washed it down and decided to give the roof and bonnet a T cut and use a bit of polish, well what a difference, the paint was looking really dull and a bit sad, but the elbow grease really paid off, the car looked very neat.

The 2000 was running a bit lumpy, I checked out the points and couldn't get them to adjust, a new set of points faired about the same with a maximum clearance of about 5 thou, In the end I bought some files from the £1 tool stand, and filed the adjusting slot, it was the only way to get anything near the 15 thou required, in fact it was pinking a bit on the way home so I think they need a bit more adjusting.

Anyome got any ideas why this is happening? all the years I worked a mechanic type person, I haven't come across this one.

Oh yeah, one more thing, I couldn't use my camera at the show, so if you have a shot of the 2000 estate on the CT stand, I would be grateful if you could send them to me at heraldhabitat@hotmail.com
cheers
Chris
